(ADPnews) - Apr 22, 2010 - German carmaker BMW (ETR:BMW) is currently looking into the option of assembling its sport utility vehicle (SUV) X1 at its new China plant in Tiexi, CEO Norbert Reithofer said on Thursday in Beijing.
The company is currently going over possible scenarios in co-ordination with Chinese authorities, he added.
Last November BMW announced it would invest together with Brilliance China Automotive Holdings (HKG:1114) EUR 560 million (USD 755m) in a second Chinese car plant. According to the signed agreement, the sum will be split evenly between the Bavarians and Brilliance China. The conveyor …
