NSW: Shell could be fined up to $1 mln for oil spill = 2

A massive clean-up operation is underway today after thousands of litres of crude oil
poured into Sydney Harbour.

In the Land and Environment Court in 1994, Shell was fined $42,000 and ordered to pay costs
after eight to 10 tonnes of oil escaped from a tanker at the same terminal.
